The Health Impact of AFFF Exposure
Individuals with long-term, occupational exposure to AFFF are facing severe health consequences. PFAS accumulation in the body has been linked to a range of life-threatening illnesses, most notably various forms of cancer such as bladder, kidney, pancreatic, testicular, liver, breast, leukemia, lymphoma, ovarian, and prostate cancer. Additionally, exposure to these chemicals can lead to other serious conditions like asthma, fertility issues, thyroid disease, and high blood pressure. The greatest number of claimants in these lawsuits are former and active members of the military, alongside firefighters, airport workers, and chemical industry workers, all of whom have faced significant exposure to these toxic substances in their line of work.
